Last week I read Derek Walcott’s “Love after Love”, a poem with themes of self-awareness and acceptance. As I read it over and over (it’s short) each time this line stood out:

“You will love again the stranger who was your self.”
Later that day, during my daily inventory, the line came to mind again, each half hitting a little differently. I thought of “You will love again...” when answering the Gratitude and Relationship questions: the more grateful I am, the more love I feel, and giving more energy to relationships makes more love available.
When I reached the Changes prompt, that line—"...the stranger who was your self"—made me wonder if the changes I’m seeking are really just a return to a truer version of myself (shades of Robert Fulghum's "All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten").
Does Walcott’s poem strike a chord with you—or reminded you of something within yourself you’d once forgotten?
